The British & Irish Lions
Mike Burton was appointed to exclusively create, deliver and sell the official series of HSBC Lions Legends lunches and dinners in 2009.
The official series of events was sponsored by HSBC, the Principle Partner of the British & Irish Lions tour to South Africa in 2009, and saw some of the greatests ever Lions players come together throughout the season. The series of events commenced with a dinner at Lord's Cricket Ground on Thursday 20 November, where three of the greatest Lions legends of all time were there in the form of JPR Williams, Willie John McBride and Jeremy Guscott.
The events were also in partnership with the Telegraph Group who supported the series and promoted the discussion at each event around the HSBC Lions Legends XV. More than 2,500 guests and 100 former Lions enjoyed the experience and debate. The series continued with lunches and dinners across the UK, continuing into May before the squad departed and the presentation of the HSBC Lions Legends XV, which took place in front of more than 750 guests at the Brewery in London.
